CodeRacers V12 — Grand Prix Edition

Championship mode

5-round season across Monaco, Silverstone, Monza, Spa and Suzuka. Points awarded (25/18/15/12/10). All AI drivers score across the season. Trophy ceremony when the season ends.

Qualifying session

Before each race you can run a hot lap in qualifying mode. Your lap time sets your grid position. AI qualifying times are simulated from their base pace.

Pit stop mechanic

New sensors pitLaneOpen and pitStopCount. Return pitRequest: true from your decide() function to box, or use the "Box Box!" button. Pit stop: 3 second pause, tyres reset to 95%, ERS topped up to 70%.

Ghost / Time Trial mode

Time Trial screen lets you run laps and record your best. Ghost data is stored in localStorage per circuit. Next run shows a translucent ghost car replaying your best lap.

Sound engine

Web Audio API engine with oscillator-based motor sound (frequency follows speed + throttle), white-noise boost whoosh, tyre squeal in corners, pit stop air gun, and finish fanfare. Toggle in the nav bar.

5-car AI grid with personalities

Four named rival drivers: Luna Shift (aggressive), Ace Volt (consistent), Nova Chen (technical), Rex Darkwood (defensive). Each has different speed characteristics and cornering behaviour.

Mobile overhaul

Fully responsive canvas, compact HUD on small screens, mobile-friendly nav drawer, touch-size buttons throughout, and a dedicated max-scale=1 viewport to prevent zoom-on-tap issues.
